Recent Interior Design Projects In Hampshire
Winchester Farmhouse
Lucinda’s most recent Hampshire project was arguably her favourite to date. It was a gorgeous old flint farmhouse in a picturesque village just outside of Winchester on the river Itchen.
Having previously collaborated with her client on their chalet in Switzerland, they enlisted her help with their new home in Hampshire.
The project entailed a full strip out of the house including all floors and windows. Lucinda and her client then set about reconfiguring the existing layouts, including adding a substantial extension for a large family kitchen overlooking the garden.
Once the layouts were finalised, Lucinda reintroduced period features that the flint farmhouse would once have had. Lucinda organised bespoke joinery as this was key to making the house function for her client - it provided the ability to hide away any mess! Lucinda then layered these features with soft colour palettes and pretty fabrics, injecting bolder colours in spaces such as the TV room and games room.
Lucinda reused cherished antiques from her client’s previous home. She recovered a number of their upholstery items to give them a fresh lease of life, as well as introducing new pieces to compliment these older items. Together these finishing touches pulled the schemes together.
hampshire Barn
Another fantastic project that Lucinda has worked on recently in Hampshire was a dilapidated old brick barn. It was completely derelict when her client purchased it so it needed a complete overhaul, including adding a small extension so that it could accommodate two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The builders that Lucinda worked with on the project had incredible attention to detail, which was refreshing and in turn made it a real joy to work on.
Everything in the renovation required designing, from the staircase and fireplace down to the light switches and skirting boards.
Lucinda used a lot of natural finishes which worked well set against all of the old beams and ironwork. When it came to designing the furniture and soft furnishings, the client had a few key items that they wanted to reuse such as the dining table. It was lovely to integrate these into the schemes, and create something both unique and perfectly tailored for the client.
